Thought For The Day

"Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness." (Hebrews 3:13) This is a place where new and mature Christians, alike, can come to find encouragement, and be challenged with a daily dose of God's Word to meditate on throughout the day. Together, we can grow passionate about God and His Word, allowing Him to be our guide and His Word to be our foundation.

Our Big News

Hello, friends!

Well, our little guy, Nolan Landis, joined us last Thursday, May 19th at 7:01 p.m. What a joy he is! We are so blessed! He weighed in at 7 lb. 5 oz. and was 19.5 inches long, and I think he's just the cutest little guy. He is really a good baby - our challenge right now is that he has his days and nights all mixed up. But, this too shall pass.

Thank you all for being so patient and understanding while I take a little break from writing. I hope to get back to it very soon - I miss it more than I ever imagined. In the mean-time, I will send on anything God gives me that just can't wait.

Take care, and be blessed! Talk to you all soon!

Passionately Pursuing God,
Andrea

Isaiah 66:13
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.

This passage is especially vivid to me right now, having a new baby around. At all hours of the night our new little guy lets us know when he needs something. And yet, even in my sleep-deprived, hazy 2 a.m. stupor, I still can’t help but love on him and snuggle him and hold him just a few extra minutes. At one week old, he has completely captured my heart.

To think that God is the same way - endless in His love and comfort, always available, endlessly giving us all that He has - gives me such great comfort and joy. He is so much bigger than I am, and He is tireless - if my flawed, human comfort can be so full and tireless, imagine how much greater God’s is for us.

I am awed and amazed at the comfort and love God showers upon me daily - in great and small things, even at 2 a.m. when I have a baby that won’t go to sleep. He is so good to us, filling us with all that we need, and comforting us in His limitless, unending, perfect love.
